About Liana

Liana has always found herself as the person people came to when they needed someone to listen and provide support.
Liana was raised in Springfield, Illinois and has always been fascinated by the study of the human body. She pursued this knowledge at Illinois State University by earning a bachelors degree in Exercise Science. After her undergraduate work, she worked in downtown Chicago as the Assistant Manager and Fitness Director for a health club. A few years later, she chose to further her education and went back to Illinois State to attend graduate school, earning her masters degree in Exercise Physiology. After meeting her husband at school, they moved to Arizona as he pursued his PhD at Arizona State University. Over time as more people naturally sought Liana for knowledge and advice, she wondered, "am I actually being who they need me to be?". This simple question led her down the path of becoming a Life Coach in 2012 where she learned how to empathically listen, then ask powerful questions allowing people to find the answers within themselves. She loves seeing the transformations in all her clients, which range in age from 20 - 75, as they work through their challenges to finally achieve their goal.
In 2015 Liana became pregnant with her first son, where her interest in the human body took hold once again as she had her eyes opened to the variety of options of childbirth options both in and out of hospitals. She was able to witness a close friend experience her pregnancy at a birth center and realized how many assumptions and lack of evidence-based education is available surrounding the normal, natural process of childbirth. Liana's research during her own childbirth journey led her to become a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) in order to provide education and support for pregnant persons and their partners.
This new journey into parenthood was not without its own hurdles for Liana and her husband. While postpartum with her first son, Liana had severe struggles with breastfeeding. She experienced intense pain, loneliness, and frustration during the first two months of her son's life, seeking help from a pediatrician and midwife to no avail. After another failed appointment in trying to find answers and help with breastfeeding, she was wondering how she was going to survive this time period. She then contacted a lactation consultant. The lactation consultant was the saving grace for Liana, her husband, and son, working together to come up with a great plan and solution to their struggles. This experience changed her life and pushed her to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), which she hopes to complete in the next few years. Currently, as alLactation counselor, she provides much needed support and answers to breastfeeding mothers.

Throughout the entire process of providing support to families, she decided to become a doula through DONA. Adding this component to her other passions of support, allows her to provide well rounded support to anyone.
As a recipient of a masters degree in Exercise Physiology, certified life coach, Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, doula, and Certified Lactation Counselor, Liana provides custom support for clients of all ages, genders, and races.
